The Montclair Shtiebel
Shtiebel (noun) (Yiddish: שטיבעל):
A small, informal synagogue or prayer space, typically emphasizing a close-knit, warm, and intimate community environment. Originating from Yiddish, the term "shtiebel" (meaning "little house") reflects its home-like atmosphere, often characterized by relaxed settings and a focus on personal connections within the Jewish faith.
The Shtiebel is more than just a synagogue—it's a vibrant and welcoming community space where tradition meets warmth. We believe in creating a place that feels like home, where formality and stiffness are left at the door, and everyone is embraced with open arms. Here, people from all walks of life come together to share in Jewish spirituality, song, connection, and delicious food. Whether you're here for prayer, learning, or simply to be part of a caring community, The Shtiebel is a space where you can truly belong, just as you are.
